I was up early today and caught this sunrise on the way to work.

Storm's Comin'
Just after I took this photo there was thunder and within a minute or two a steady rain began. Summer may be leaving with a cold front coming in from the West.

Drizzle ends
It was a rainy/drizzly day until just before sunset when the rain stopped and the clouds started to break up so the sun could shine through.

Sun
The Transit of Venus arrived today. I didn't see it but I got this shot of the sun on my way home tonight just before it set.

Clouds
This evening the sun on the clouds was spectacular. This was the prelude to a "Severe Thunderstorm Watch" which so far has not materialized.

Moon
The moon in the sky this evening got my attention. The lens on my camera isn't nearly big enough to get a good shot but this one isn't bad.

Storm Coming
I came out of Walgreens and dark clouds hovered overhead. Will it pour before I get home? Ninety minutes later it hasn't rained yet. The clouds have moved east and there is more open sky but the clouds are still heavy. No doubt it will rain as predicted before the night is over.

Another Sunset
I've posted a number of sunsets over the past year. But each one is a work of creation and I never get tired of watching God's nightly show. Enjoy!

Evening Daylight
Tonight's photo celebrates the lengthening of daylight. This photo was taken in the same spot as yesterday evening; about 10 min later.

Sunset
The days are getting longer and tonight I drove home during sunset. This tree is about 3 miles from my home.
Occasionally the clouds in flat Illinois gather into "mountain peaks." Tonight's sky was filled with them.

Bean
I went downtown into the Loop to see Luminous Field, a light show at Cloud Gate (commonly called "the Bean") in Millennium Park. This photo during the "Blue Hour" turned out amazing.
There were so many people standing around the bean you could only see the light show as a reflection but even that was impressive.
